How do I install the ReadCloud eReader on my computer?

ReadCloud can be downloaded via the ReadCloud website. The ereader is currently available for install on Windows, Apple OSX, and Linux. Mobile phone support is scheduled for early 2010.

How do I update my eReader? 

Each time you open the ReadCloud eReader it checks for software updates. If an update exists you'll be prompted to install it.

Can I change my Login ID? 

Yes. To do this select My account from the menu on the left and select Edit.

How do I set up a group?

To set up a group select Create Reading Group and fill in the details. After the group is created select "Add Members" and paste in the email addresess of those you'd like to invite.

How do I add a book to a group? 

Select Add Book By Search , search for a book you'd like to read, click on the search result to see the book info page. On the book info page you'll see a section titled "Assign book to group" with a list of the groups you've created and the option to select "Currently Reading, Have Read, Suggested Reading", make a selection. Next time you open the ReadCloud ereader and login the book will be downloaded to your reader automatically.

Do I have to be online for ReadCloud to work?

The eReading software also works offline – once you have downloaded a book it is stored temporarily for offline access. You can still make annotations offline as they will be stored and synchronised with your reading group once you're next online.

Can I access ReadCloud from other computers?

Yes you can access ReadCloud from any computer as all the books and annotations you create are stored on our servers.

Can I upload my purchased eBooks?

No you are not currently able to upload copyright protected eBooks. This is due to requirements to have Digital Rights Management software installed that protects the copyright holder from piracy. We are currently working on further developing ReadCloud so it can also be used for reading in-copyright books. We are aiming to provide this service in the beginning of 2010
